Of course, by now, you know we reversed our sea change. We changed the tree change for the sea change back to a tree change, and with fresh eyes embraced our old community. I fell in love with the Central Tablelands all over again. And this Colour City has never seemed more colourful nor embraced me more warmly.
We have lived here for 23 years. We have forged some very firm friendships with people of all ages and backgrounds. Going out into the community is a pure pleasure as there are so many people we know from our beautiful pharmacist and her family to our new doctor to the book store owner to the librarian etc etc.
We have come back to spare grandchildren. Oh, the joy.
We have come back to carefree driving.
We have come back to literally taking five minutes to duck down the street, although it might take longer because you have bumped into someone for a lovely chat.
We have come back to fabulous coffee. We are spoiled rotten for choice!
We have come back to gourmet foods, to locally grown produce.
We have come back to crisp mountain air, to fresh air.
We have a very active Conservatorium. My flute and piano needs can be met.
The Art Gallery people are so active.
I love my physio from PhyzX.
We have come back to centralised living. Public hospital, private hospital, dentists, doctors, chemists, shops, nurseries, all kinds of shops, all centrally located, no more than 10-15 minutes away if you live in town.
We have come back to the most wonderful public indoor heated pool complex. I cannot believe my luck! I am trying to swim for an hour every day and it is so very easy. I just hop in my car and the complex is literally 5 mins from my front door.
So, this getting older business is very much aided and abetted by location, location, location. It is turning out to be a very, very, very CONVENIENT truth!
